A company built on land and story

The Wild North is a tourism activity company based in Porto, specialising in authentic off-road explorations in Northern Portugal. Our offer centres on the classic Portuguese UMM — an iconic vehicle from the nation's automotive history.

We travel through Porto, the Douro Valley, Serra do Marão, Braga and Guimarães. Our mission is to give visitors far more than a tour: a genuine experience defined by identity, landscape and narrative.

We position ourselves above generic Porto tourism, in an accessible premium experience segment aimed at those seeking authenticity, moderate adventure and a real connection with the land.

The UMM — an icon of Portuguese automotive history

The UMM (União Metalo-Mecânica) is more than an off-road vehicle — it is a symbol of Portuguese industrial history. Manufactured in Portugal between 1977 and 1994, it crossed the country from end to end. Aboard our UMM, every journey is also a journey through time.
